This lady from Rio has been in inspiration to me, her cut paper work inspired me to get going with my own work at the end of 2008. However since then Analus’ work has moved in many and colourful directions, this piece made me smile so much that I wanted for myself. WIth Analu’s permission I have downloaded and printed it out and its destined to be framed and hung in my home.

Hated it as a child, in fact hated any desserts, my birthday parties were surreal savoury fantasies conjured up by my very talented grandmother. Today I have found a smidgeon of sweetness is desirable, especially the taste of chocolate, but the the texture of jelly is just something else…………………….. especially when made by Bompass and Parr, they have taken jelly making to another level !!

Feels good to have completed latest project, its been a long time coming, so good to close the door behind us knowing the client was extremely happy.
All went like clockwork, a big thanks to everyone who worked with me on this project, all my suppliers and especially to all my staff who have helped my vision become reality, thankyou so much. Our time on site was so productive in every way and extremely rewarding. This vision has been playing on a virtual screen in my head for an awful long time, to see it in situ was so satisfying.
all the artwork, paper sculptures and photography that I created together with my daughter, looked amazing.

Sunday, what a fabulous day, Kirsty and Yao came over and we cut paper together all around the table!! Enriching in everyway, the bonus being we made an ocean of flowers together. Each flower so unique, cut out, folded, crimped , moulded and shaped so lovingly, all by hand and with love. The persepex boxes are going to be full of so much more than flowers!
For lunch we ate a tasty roast chicken, roast butternut squash and parsnips and courgettes and french beans from Kirsty’s garden, and ended the day by watching an incredible film called MAN ON A WIRE, a guy that against all odds walked on a wire strung between the topmost points of the world trade centres twin towers back in the 70′s. Amazing footage.
All in all a really lovely day

The deadline is getting close, the pressure is on , i have flowers coming out of my ears. Why is it I do best under pressure? I have had months to get this project off the ground, all the ideas percolating around inside until I come up with something that just “feels right”. With the deadline looming I am forced to make a decison and when I do I feel a mixture or elation and peace. My body acts out what my heart is telling me, this is the one!!!!!! this is it, a real sense of calm and wellbeing resides, the anxiety of getting it right subsides and off I go, it all seem quite effortless once I start.
I adore roses, so its no surprise that my hands have cut, crimped and glued many today!! They look so fragile but at the same time so robust!!, there heady perfume and profuse flowering habits fill me with joy. My favourite perfume which I wear all he time is Rose Absolue. It is said the Cleopatra laid a thick carpet 2 feet thick of rose petals for a banquette given for Mark Anthony………..
I am also filling some perspex boxes with a swarm of butterflys, about 350 in all. Then three large trees, one tree per perspex box. Oh my get a move on CAROL……. no time to write blogs
