love, love, love, give your love away
October 16, 2010
Its been one hell of a week, extremely demanding on all fronts, it would be easy to react, to get angry, to judge, to withdraw. But what I do know is that none of that stuff works………… have love in your heart and keep if flowing. Listen to this video clip, it’s a real positive message………………………….
A wonderful end to a busy week
August 15, 2010
Last week was full on busy, head full of rooms, plans, colours, I have this kind of virtual reality thing that goes into overdrive when I am creating. I have to vision very clearly and in minute detail, for me to be able to attract in what I need to complete each stage of the projects in hand. So posting here sadly, has been neglected
However enough of all that, just had to tell you about the start of my weekend, this is the second time I have tried to see this film and this time succeeded. Coco and Igor, some of write ups and have not been that wonderful, but I was enthralled, not only by the brooding emotions that pull you through the film, the interiors and the graceful image that Coco herself imparts, but IGOR STRAVINSKY and his music it made my hair stand on end……………. the delicate notes that start the Rites of Spring, oh how I would love to have been and the premier in 1913, the mayhem that ensued. Its so difficult to put this piece and the dancing into the context of that time, the savage freedom of movement I guess must have seemed so shocking then, but today sadly, so tame. His music lives on, as does Chanel, although I cannot help think that their “romance” was maybe not as momentous as the film would have us believe. Undeniably though, their passion poured through influencing their work and elevating it to a higher level. Coco , with her early childhood issues obviously had great difficulty in forming relationships and this was born out in both films, I think to her, Igore was one of many of her conquests of unobtainable men, and when she conquered them it became all to threatening and she withdrew into her world of fashion, a real ice queen, maintaining her independence and the need to be “Free” . She died having never having married, living in her ivory tower a very successful but lonely woman.
Stravinsky’s music is full on emotional roller coaster, his gift of imparting his passion into every note lives on, I have posted a trailer to the film, and also a piece from Disneys’ film Fantasia which is accompanied by a piece from Firebird, a ballet which sealed the union between Diaghlev and Stravinsky aged 28, premiered in Paris in 1910. Three years before The Rite of Spring.

The Century of Self
July 15, 2010
This programme is one of four documentaries broadcast by the BBC a couple of years ago. I have watched all four now and its left me reeling. i guess its something I have known all along, but seeing it here in moving pictures it brings it home why this system needs to crumble, why we ned to unplug from the patriarchy.
From little acorns mighty oaks do grow
July 7, 2010
A dear friend of mine recently posted a series of 4 video clips on Facebook “The man who planted trees”. Lazily clicking the link, sipping tea and eating my special homemade muesli which I adore, this lovely music swirled out form laptop and looking down I saw an eagle soaring the heights in a soft gentle animation, just like the voice that was to follow, munching away, checking emails with one eye and the other on the you tube window I slowly began to become transfixed. Such a beautiful story began to unfold. With the last mouthful of tea sipped down and the last spoon of appley, nutty morning delight downed for the day, I sat somewhere more comfortable and watched avidly all four of the clips, I was enthralled, my heart felt so expanded as the tale unfolded and knew that I wanted to share with it all my friends.
Not only is this a story of great hope its a story about our connection to the earth, the divine mother herself who continues to create abundance for us all. She continues, even though so many are still hell-bent on destroying it……….. the old adage about we reap what we sow couldn’t be more appropriate here, not only literally with the acorns, but taking care and attention with the small things in our lives, small acts of kindness, respect to our planet. Using our great gifts of intuition to sort out which would be the best seeds for your situation, choose one for each area of our lives, choose to smile and say good morning to people on your way to work, tell your children that you love them ,daily; make the decision to improve something in your daily routine that will make you feel good about yourself, form a recycling clothes group, pool resources with neighbours, there are so many ways that can grow us a wonderful new world, all it takes is to continually sow new seed and to keep them watered and weeded and a veritable forest of healthy growth will permeate our lands……. What a wonderful thought.
on my way to work
June 11, 2010
How I love it when I walk to work, sometimes I am in a rush and drive down in my car, but when I make the effort to walk I always thoroughly enjoy it,
Today was especially nice, everywhere was fresh and green after the nights downpour, the birds were singing ( hear my video clip, i phone takes v clips portrait as default, why cant I turn it landscape? Oh well at least you can hear the birds singing)
Looking all around me, the greenness was overwhelmingly cheery, the elderflowers are just beginning to bloom, how I love that very distinctive flavour, it tastes green to me, that wonderfull, gooseberry sharpeness, elederflowr cordial so summery and a delightful drink with a handful of basil leaves, all chilled with ice cubes in a huge glass jug. Summer in a glass……..
The lime flowers too just beginning to unfurl and nesteled at the base of a fallen tree (leftover from the great storm of 1987) a small crop of wild alpine strawberries, some already beginning to form.
How wonderful it is to have this all around me, I am so fortunate to be able to walk amongst nature like this. I perhaps need to remind myself of this when I daydream of livng elswehere, why would I want to, the town is a stones throw away, the common just across the road, the flat large and spacious. Why do I think of moving? because I dont have a garden or or somewhere to sit out and have a coffee and read a book. Yes I can walk across to the common with a deckchair, but its not the same. I am decorating with the view of perhaps renting or selling later in the year, who knows If I will? Selling all my furniture, sorting through books and all my belongings so that I can feel freer, more streamline and start to find pieces that really mean something to me. Most of the items came from my business as in interior designer, things left over, etc etc. I want to create a space that lives and breathes me, simple, creative, functional, easy and comfortable, and above all a space where my creative outpourings can be displayed.
I am here to speak, please listen

92 years, a good long life
When asked about her success, Ms Horne once said: “I was unique in that I was a kind of black that white people could accept.
“I was their daydream. I had the worst kind of acceptance because it was never for how great I was or what I contributed. It was because of the way I looked.”
