armorial amour paper shoe no. 7

Well todays effort was extremely testing of my patience……….  managed to make a heel, not as graceful as I would like but it looks good.  Shoe is made of hand printed tissue paper from my own  toile erotique collection, black paper,  together with its own coat of arms…………….  What am I going to do with them, any ideas!   these are meant to be just trials, but they are becoming very detailed and have a life all of their own…………..shoe no. 7 IMG_2750_2shoe 7.5 IMG_2752Shoe no.7.2IMG_2770shoe no.7.3.IMG_2762_2Shoe no.7.4IMG_2773_2shoe no.7 toile erotique backgroundshoe no. 7 toile etotique 2.IMG_2791

a beautiful sunny day spent in the sussex countryside with my daughter Kirsty.  A creative day spent painting birdcages!! for another IDC project, lunch with home grown veg, french beans, courgettes and sunshine yellow and deep red cherry tomatoes, yummy.  Then of for a long walk over the fields, back through the churchyard in time for tea.  Another happy memory to store away!!

toile d’erotique v2

Toile d’erotique, blue repeating pattern, shoe ruffles, paper dress, paper scultpture, rows and rows and rows. one image repeated back to back and then flipped vertically to form this geometric pattern.  I love the way the initial image take on a totally differentt meaning.

Rose d’amour – paper shoe no.6

Shoe no.6 toile DSC_1343

Red preserved petals, toile, intamacy, unfurling, sensitivity, fragile, vulnerable.  All handmade in paper, shoe lining taken from 18th century erotic etchings to make my own toile, preserved flower petals. Gold dresdon paper edging

somewhere i have never travelled, gladly beyond

any experience, your eyes have their silence:

in your most frail gesture are things which enclose me,

or which i cannot touch because they are too near

your slightest look will easily unclose me

though i have closed myself as fingers,

you open always petal by petal myself as Spring opens

(touching skilfully, mysteriously) her first rose

Shoe no.6 signature 2 DSC_1353or if your wish be to close me, i and

my life will shut very beautifully ,suddenly,

as when the heart of this flower imagines

the snow carefully everywhere descending;

nothing which we are to perceive in this world equals

the power of your intense fragility: whose texture

compels me with the color of its countries,

rendering death and forever with each breathing

(i do not know what it is about you that closes and opens;

only something in me understands

the voice of your eyes is deeper than all roses)

nobody, not even the rain, has such small hands

The “Dada” paper shoe” no. 5

Todays shoe was inspired by dear friend Analu in Rio.  Her Dada workshop produced so many colourful images on flickr that when I started working with crepe paper I just had to dedicate this shoe to her.  THANKYOU ANALU!!

I cut strips of crepe paper and “twirled ” into long spirals, then glued them onto the shoe upper shape.  After finalising the pattern I then completed glueing the upper to the sole………..  Cannot wait to produce shoe no.6 … what to do with them all I ask myself
