painting with colour to map our emotions, painting with emotions, colours with name such as pain, loss, fear, sad, happy, joyous, loving.
Been a lot of loss lately for me, reminders of loss, actual loss, and an anniversary of loss. Want to paint it out of me, want to expel the indigo that is flooding through me, the purple, the deepest darkest violet……….. think I will put together a palette of emotions and just paint and see what happens, guess its the intention one puts in the task……..
This guy has a different take on emotions, his is interactive digital painting, see his website Sergio Albiac Just love the colours he works with in these portraits,
Played around in my sketchbook coming up with all manner of creatures today. I was so amazed at the characters that appeared, they just evolved from blobs of watercolour and a graphite pencil……… Its the emotions that surprised me, each one definitely showing a unique characteristic
I am going to be using my sketchb00k to illustrate emotions, an “emotional” journey. Today was a start, a good start thanks to Carla Sonheim and her Snowball diaries http://carlasonheim.wordpress.com/
Please hear me she yearned, see me, feel me, I want to be close………………. Please dont leave me
Orange, what a beautiful and exciting colour……… what I find do incredible is that all winter this tulips magnificence is slumbering deep within a shrivelled looking brown bulb!! The sun warms the soil; the days lengthen and up shoot sturdy green growth, big swollen buds that burst open in a riot of colour. My daughter planted a huge bed full of orange tulips in her front garden and they look so vibrant and exciting.
Orange is the colour of our second chakra, the sacral chakra, located in the sacred bowl of the pelvis where it connects to the sacrum. This is the centre of the emotional system, all that is sensual and creative emanates from this area as the chakra spins. Embedded in this area also is our childhood development of age 6-12, we start to explore, identify emotions and learn to create in all areas from our new experiences. For some children this is an exciting time to explore the world outside of the home and come back to the safety and support of the family, for others this is not the case, the family support is not there or can be perceived as “not there”, for this reason there is a lot of “emotion” held in this chakra, old stored energy that blocks and stops the chakra from spinning freely. From a shamanic perspective this is where we cleanse and clear these energies, clear the imprints that have built up on the luminous energy field
When we clear this chakra we connect to our emotions, we no longer feel disconnected from life, we “feel” them and they move us create, change and growth. Connecting to our emotions are essential, how are we going to move forward and change if we cant identify and work with what is truly going on inside of us. Without this chakra being fully cleansed the energies cannot flow fully through the chakra system.
